Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who we are
PassTheUKTest.com is a free online study tool to help people prepare for the Life in the UK citizenship test. It is operated as an independent, privately run website. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the UK Home Office, the official test provider (Learndirect), or any government body.
If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at: hello@passtheuktest.com
2. What data we collect and why
We aim to collect as little personal data as possible. Here is what we collect and why:
Practice test results and progress
When you take a practice test, your answers and scores are saved in your browser's local storage and, if you are signed in, to our database (Supabase). This is used to show you your progress, analytics, and personalised recommendations. This data is linked to a session identifier stored in your browser, not to your name or email address unless you create an account.
Email address (Premium waitlist)
If you submit your email address to join the Premium waitlist, we store your email address in our database. We will only use this to send you a single notification when Premium launches and, if applicable, to send you your early-access discount code. We will not send you any other marketing emails and we will never sell or share your email address with third parties.
Anonymous usage data
We may collect anonymised, aggregated analytics data (e.g., page views, test completion rates) to understand how people use the site and to improve it. This data cannot be used to identify individual users. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools and do not share this data with advertisers.
3. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to store your practice test history, study streak, and session preferences. This data stays on your device and is never automatically sent to our servers.
If we use any first-party cookies, they are strictly necessary for the site to function (e.g., authentication session tokens). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
4. How we store and protect your data
Data stored on our servers is held with Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning users can only access their own data.
We retain your test history and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days.
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to run this website:
- Supabase — Database and authentication. Privacy policy
- Google Fonts — Typography (fonts loaded from Google's CDN). Privacy policy
We do not use any advertising networks, data brokers, or social media tracking pixels.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to access the data we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing
- The right to data portability
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@passtheuktest.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
PassTheUKTest.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The Life in the UK Test is a requirement for adults applying for citizenship or settled status, so our service is intended for adult users.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Contact
If you have questions, concerns, or complaints about how we handle your data, please contact us at hello@passtheuktest.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
